Head Bolts/Studs
I
"hear" that the b16a arp head bolt set works perfect on the zc, Anyone
know for sure i saw it on a post but forget what site. I have searched
the subject but have been unable to find anything. You can get them
from lightning motorsports for 98 shipped. :rockin:

If you elect to use the ARP stud kit, you want the VTEC kit (not the B18A).
The ARP kit number is 208-4303
There is one thing though, you've got to cut off 1/2" from the top of
the center intake side stud - the top meaning the 7/16-20 threaded
side. If you don't, the stud sticks up into where the intake cam lives
- the intake cam won't go in.
This info is absolute fact and not something I heard. I literally just
put the head on my D16A1 block 15 minutes ago. If there's an FAQ
section, this should probably go there.
I'll add that I had no luck finding an ARP kit (or even individual studs)
for the bottom end (mains). I'm using the factory bolts because the 2
center positions (main #3) are longer than the rest. ARP does not make
the ideal length, and the closest one they do make (6-1/2") will not
work without compromising the stud. Don't ever stack extra washers
under ARP nuts by the way... |

Sorry
to bring this thread back to life but you know that.AP-ATP6.760-1LB is
not listed as a HEAD stud and it's just a stud (at least it's not
listed as one). There was a rumor that one of the neon head stud kits
would work.

Yea its just a stud. You have to order 10 of them. And then 10 bolts and 10 washers. This is what i did.

Well the problem I have with that is that a regular stud doesn't meet the same standards as their head studs do. I just want to make sure this is strong enough.
